Frank Nystuen is a contemporary artist from Oslo, Norway. He has the last 25 years worked as an art director, copy writer and creative director in Advertising. His creative work has been honored with more than 130 national and international awards.

His way into advertising was through art, and now he has returned to the art scene. Over the last three years Nystuen has created nearly 100 new art works and are now preparing for his first solo exhibition. 

 

Frank Nystuen's paintings and drawings embraces an deep emotional connection with the darker side of life. He works both from memory and from life, and his contemporary art are characterized by free-wheeling figurative compositions, obsessive scribbles, skulls, enigmatic symbols and text, and often includes the artist's alter ego The Birdman.
